The response of the Chadian army’s military staff to the rebels of the Higher Military Command Council for the Salvation of the Republic was very tough on Thursday. A surprise attack on a rebel group camp by the Chadian Air Force resulted in several injuries to the rebel group and civilians.
Indeed, according to our information received from local sources, two Chadian aviation fighter jets shelled a camp as part of the fight against the rebels of the Higher Military Command Council for the Salvation of the Republic in the locality of Kouri Bougoudi next to the Libyan border. This operation is part of the response of the Chadian staff against a rebel incursion launched on August 11th. For the moment, the results of this surprise attack have not been established by the Chadian army. But on the spot, we speak of several wounded without however speaking about loss in human life.
According to a military source, the wounded would be bombed were transported to Libya where are located the nearest hospitals. On the other hand, government sources indicate that since August, people who mingle with the rebels in this locality in search of gold had been asked to withdraw before the start of military operations.
It should be recalled that the rebels of the Higher Military Command Council for the Salvation of the Republic threaten to overthrow the regime of Idriss Deby Itno and do not hide their desires to march on the Chadian capital.
