Within the Sahel States Alliance space, one of the most important documents for movement remains the biometric passport after the withdrawal from ECOWAS. A new biometric passport was therefore needed for AES members and it is now effective. The first Burkinabe, President Ibrahim Traoré set an example on Wednesday, January 29 by obtaining his new biometric passport from the AES member states.
Indeed, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, has completed his biometric enrollment and received his passport from the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) which comes into force as of January 29. In front of the technical services, the President of Faso followed the various stages of enrollment for the AES passport. After a few moments, his passport was given to him by the Minister of Security, the Divisional Commissioner of Police, Mahamoudou SANA.
The enrollment of the Head of State marks the beginning of the process of enrollment and circulation in our country of the AES passport, a document common to the three Member States. Even if the passport bearing the ECOWAS logo remains valid until its expiration date and citizens of the AES area are invited to have it replaced by the new AES passport in accordance with the rules in this area.
